Alvaston Moor Academy is passionately committed to providing a richness of experience in education. We believe that academic success is an important measure of the quality of your child’s education, however, we believe it extends further than this. We provide daily opportunities to ensure that our young people are able to develop their character, interests and talents. Encouraging their engagement with their personal AMA journey, challenging them to unlock their physical, mental and spiritual potential, and helping them to be leaders of the future.

Study Clubs & Revision Sessions
A number of subject specific and general study clubs are available every week in order to enhance and support the curriculum. These clubs run at lunchtimes and after school and are also supported by our library which is open after school until 4pm.
The study clubs are there to help with both class work and homework and further support is offered in our school library which is open every lunch and four evenings after school (it is not open to students on a Thursday). More targeted interventions and revision sessions are available for Year 10 & 11 students.
The Lecture Series
Every third Thursday we also hold our notorious ‘Lecture Series’ in the school library which is open to all year groups. For each session we welcome guest speakers from outside of our school community to deliver inspirational talks that push our learners understanding beyond the classroom and challenge their perceptions. So far we have welcomed talks on advocacy and the power of a child’s voice, the impact of reading, an interfaith panel and training to teach.
