I am extremely proud to be Alvaston Moors Academy’s Principal and recognise it’s a great privilege to lead this school. I am passionate about this being a really happy successful school and have high expectations regarding every aspect of school life for both staff and students, firmly believing that anything is possible. I believe that all our students have the capacity to go the extra mile, and with perseverance and effort become confident and resilient learners. I truly believe that with hard work they can achieve anything.
My standards are high in every aspect of school life. Students need to always be dressed smartly in correct uniform, conduct themselves calmly round the Academy, behave and engage well in lessons.
I believe that every single student in my school is entitled to a great education, irrespective of their background or the challenges they may face. Circumstances don’t define you and I regularly say this to our learners. I want every year 11 student to have a choice when deciding what to do next, because their hopes and aspirations have been met. We are like any other school in Derby in having the high expectations that are a key factor in student aspiration and achievement.
I am also passionate about ensuring students build the valuable skills that they will need as adults through the comprehensive personal development and enrichment programme we offer.
Positive relationships are at the heart of everything we do here at Alvaston Moor Academy. Building them with staff, students and parents is essential in maintaining that close connection that binds community spirit.
I look forward to welcoming you to our academy. Please do not hesitate to contact us for further information if you would like to know more.
