Celebrating Our Students’ Record-Breaking GCSE Success!
This wonderful year group did not have the opportunity to sit their SATs exams at the end of primary school due to the pandemic. As the national ‘Progress 8’ measure is calculated using these SATs results as a starting point, there is no official progress data for any school in the country for this cohort.
Therefore, we are focusing on what truly matters: the fantastic grades our students achieved. Their outstanding attainment is the clearest and most important measure of their incredible hard work and success, and we are incredibly proud to celebrate their outstanding achievements. The dedication and resilience of our pupils, supported by our committed staff, have led to our best-ever outcomes and a clear trend of continuous improvement.
Our students have achieved exceptional results in the all-important core subjects. We saw a huge 10% jump in the number of students achieving a standard pass (Grade 4+) in English, with over half of our students now securing this key qualification. The number of students achieving a strong pass (Grade 5+) also saw a significant increase, opening up even more opportunities for their future studies and careers.
This success is reflected across the board:
- Highest Ever Combined Results: More students than ever before are leaving us with a standard pass in both English and Maths, putting them in a fantastic position for their next steps.
- Rising Grades Across All Subjects: Our students’ average grade across all their qualifications is the highest it has ever been, showing that excellence is growing in every area of our curriculum.
- Growing Ambition: We are thrilled that the number of students taking on a challenging academic curriculum of subjects (the English Baccalaureate) has more than doubled in the last year, demonstrating our high expectations and the ambition of our students.
These fantastic results are a testament to our wonderful students and the supportive community here at Alvaston Moor Academy. We look forward to building on this incredible success in the years to come.
Data outcomes are officially published and validated by the Department for Education in January each year.
